Iron Sharpening Iron #100

Welcome to the new Iron Sharping Iron. Here is a Bible verse that I find interesting and would like your input on it.
Mark 5:19
“Go home to your friends, and tell them what great things the Lord has done for you, and how He has had compassion on you.”

  1. This is what I think this verse says to me. The Lord loves me and I love the Lord. Being saved as a born again Christian and having a personal relationship with Jesus has changed my life. Look at me folks, see what I am doing, and hear what I am saying. You need to walk the walk and talk the talk. Share the word of God to everyone you meet! Lead by example…..Please share what you think this verse means to you?

  2. Did you know that some experts suggest that as much as 85% of communication is non-verbal?

There are some who profess to be Christians who say their witness to the world is the Christian lifestyle they lead. Unfortunately, none of our "Christian lifestyles" measure up.

I think Jesus' instructions are meant to include both verbal and lifestyle communication. First, I need to be ready to tell anyone who asks how much the Lord has done for me. Do I know how much He has done for me? No, not really... not unless I have spent time studying the Bible so that I understand the consequences of rejecting Him and the blessings of a relationship with Jesus as my Lord. The second thing I must do is live a life that is as holy (set apart for God's use) as I possibly can without fooling myself into thinking that my good life will make me good enough to get into heaven. The last part of what Jesus said addresses the way we live our lives. If it were not for God's mercy we would all be hell-bound.

  3. I think we tend to overanalyze the bible. I think you are both right. It is what it is. QWe can talk about Jesus all day long, and buddhists can talk about budha, and any follower of any god can talk about their god. However our God being alive and active in our lives allows us to share what our living God is currently doing as well as what he did in the past. just a thought.
